Chiropractic Professional Associations

LBP BlogAs you enter the door of a Chiropractic clinic how do you really know that they are who they say they are? Is their qualification real?

Most of you would not be aware that there is no legislation in Ireland regarding the profession a person decides to advertise and if it is verified by a legitimate University. Anyone can open a clinic and call themselves a Chiropractor and you would not know the difference.

Compare this to the UK where a Chiropractor has to join at least two professional organisations in order to be able to practice as a chiropractor. Ireland is lagging behind in this a little!

However, it is not all bad. There is an association set up in Ireland for Chiropractors, The Chiropractic Association of Ireland, which it is voluntary to join for Chiropractors wanting to practice. I, myself have joined this association as I feel that it is so important to protect the profession within this country.

Therefore, if you are looking for a FULLY QUALIFIED Chiropractor have a look at The Chiropractic Association of Ireland website to find your nearest practitioner.

Danielle Hurley is a qualified, registered Chiropractor working in her clinic, Absolute Chiropractic in Midleton, Co. Cork.
