Chiropractic
At Absolute Chiropractic, we use an adjusting style referred to as “Diversified”. This is a hands-on technique used to improve the movement and alignment of the spine or other joints. Our chiropractor applies a controlled force using their hands to manipulate a specific joint. This aims to restore proper motion, reduce joint restrictions, and improve nervous system function.
You may hear a “pop” or “crack” – this is just gas being reduced from the joint. It is safe and performed by a trained professional. Both our chiropractors are trained to the highest standards.
Shockwave Therapy
What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It is a clinically proven solution for a range of musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain issues, especially those involving tendons, ligaments and joints.
How Does It Work?
During treatment, acoustic waves are directed at the affected area through a handheld device. These waves penetrate deep into tissues, promoting increased blood flow, breaking down calcified deposits, and stimulating cellular repair and regeneration. Most sessions are quick, lasting between 10-20 minutes, and typically require no downtime.
Benefits of Shockwave Therapy
* Non-surgical and drug free
* Fast pain relief
* Improves mobility and function
* Stimulates tissue regeneration
* No downtime or recovery period
* Safe and minimal side effects
What to Expect During Treatment
The procedure is performed in a clinical setting without anaesthesia. Most patients describe
the sensation mildly uncomfortable but tolerable. A course of treatment typically involves 3-6
sessions, but this may depend on how old the injury is. Many patients report noticeable
improvement after just a few sessions.
Is Shockwave Therapy Right for You?
Shockwave Therapy is ideal for individuals with chronic pain and who have not responded to
conventional treatments. It is especially beneficial for conditions that involve soft tissue
damage, scar tissue, or poor blood circulation.
A professional assessment is essential to determine if this therapy is appropriate for your
specific condition.
This treatment is not suitable for those who may be pregnant, have a pacemaker, suffer from
blood-clotting disorders, open wounds or have had a recent cortisone injection.
Kinesio Taping
The Kinesio Taping Method is a taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process, while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion, as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio Tape is safe for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
Deep Tissue Massage / Trigger Point Therapy
Here at Absolute Chiropractic we believe that restoring the muscular structure in conjunction with the spinal chiropractic adjustments is paramount to the success of our treatments. This is what sets up apart from the rest, as we include deep tissue muscle work with ALL our treatments.
Some of the physical benefits of Deep Tissue Massage include:
Exercise Rehabilitation
A fundamental part of chiropractic care at Absolute Chiropractic is the use of appropriate exercise. Depending on our assessment, we may introduce a custom rehabilitation plan. We use software called ‘Web Exercises’, which sends you video links and downloadable content. Reconditioning injured soft tissues such as ligaments and muscles is paramount in effecting improved range of motion of the joints. Exercises that facilitate the optimal length of the muscles and then strengthen them are key towards providing improvement from injury and maintaining health muscles and joints.
Activator
The Activator Method chiropractic technique uses a spring-loaded, hand-held mechanical instrument called the Activator adjusting instrument. This instrument allows chiropractors to provide a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. We would this use this in particular instances where it would be more beneficial than a manual adjustment.
